Hallie is the Founder and CEO of FUTURE OF WOMEN, a platform that creates original multimedia content and programming by, for, and about women from around the world, empowering women and girls to act on their dreams.
After nearly a decade at the World Bank, the London School of Economics and Political Science, the New Museum, RE.WORK, IBM Smarter Cities, Samasource, and Wells Fargo Advisors, where Hallie worked alongside designers, investors, artists, engineers, and policymakers to develop programs that support creativity and entrepreneurship in cities across the US, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, Hallie was inspired to focus on supporting women around the world. FUTURE OF WOMEN was born out of the belief that women dream bigger when they are surrounded by stories from exceptionally adventurous and accomplished women. FUTURE OF WOMEN works with a global community of female photographers and filmmakers to develop content and programming that features incredible women across continents - highlighting women exploring new frontiers in food, tech, sports, sex, media, music, theater, art, and science. Each month, FUTURE OF WOMEN partners with leading female chefs to host a women's breakfast.
Hallie's work has been featured in the MIT’s Innovations Journal and the World Economic Forum, as well as the World Bank’s annual World Development Report and World Bank blogs.
She holds an MSc in International Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis. She lives in Los Angeles.
More about her work prior to Future of Women
Hallie has spent a decade accelerating creative communities in the US, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, successfully supporting and working with entrepreneurs, engineers, designers, universities, venture capitalists, and policymakers to develop programs that foster creativity and entrepreneurship in cities.
At the World Bank, Hallie worked with entrepreneurs and policymakers to build programs that foster job creation in the economy through the creation of a culture of entrepreneurship. Projects included: a startup competition in Lebanon for young entrepreneurs; a yearlong lecture series with creative industry leaders and World Bank clients on future trends, with study trips in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and US; and an edTech pilot program with the Lebanese government and international and local partners to foster creativity in the classroom (video). Previously based in London and San Francisco, Hallie co-curated RE.WORK Cities, a summit that convenes entrepreneurs, academics, technologists, business leaders, and policymakers from around the world to discuss how entrepreneurship, emerging technologies, and science influence the sustainability of cities, and developed strategy and partnerships for Samasource, an enterprise service provider that uses technology to connect marginalized people to dignified work.
